Cogent Power warehouses and slits a full range of electrical sheets for the transformer industry. Although our primary focus is on processing grain-oriented steel, we also slit non-oriented steel through our state-of-the-art slitting facility. We provide cut core kits—from simple cut to length-square shunts, to sophisticated multi step-lap cores—and fully assembled cut cores—including a supply of clamping steelwork and insulation—for small and medium power transformers up to 20 Mva.

Cogent's large stocks of grain oriented and non-oriented silicon steel ensures the shortest lead times, and security of supply. Our stocking programs in place for long term, repeater items provide uninterrupted product flow to customers

Toroids
Cogent Power is one of the largest toroidal core producers in North America, offering a full range of annealed, toroidal cores for metering, relaying and small power applications. Our toroidal cores are available in a wide array of products and configurations. They can be supplied bare, coated, round or oval and epoxy coated for sound insulation and improved electrical properties. Materials used in production range from thin gauge, non-oriented (.004”) to HI B steels.
